The cost of a commercial property inspection will depend on several factors such as the size of the property, scope of the client’s assessment, and reporting requirements. They can be ordered when purchasing and managing properties or specialty field services working with mortgage servicers, lenders, and investors on distressed mortgage borrowers or foreclosures.
It will generally cost approximately a minimum of .05 cents per square foot for vast industrial type properties and warehouses to .10-.20 cents per square foot for office complexes, retail establishments, and multifamily units.
Some small jobs can take 4 or 5 hours to complete, and large buildings can take anywhere from 1 to 3 days to inspect and another 2 to 3 days to research and report, so the fees can vary widely.
Commercial property inspections cost more than a typical home inspection because they are larger properties and require extensive construction and repair knowledge, and the reports are much more detailed.
